‘The Perfect Daughter’ by Kerry Wilkinson is a psychological thriller that had my heart in my mouth as I ploughed my way through another excellently written book by this author.

Jennifer is late to pick up her daughter, Katie from college. It’s pitch black and the rains pouring down, she quickly glances at her phone and feels a thud on the car. Thinking she may have caught a wheelie bin she goes to check and from this moment on she is keeping a secret. She begins to get texts from an unknown number saying “I know what you did.” To protect Katie she does everything they ask until the messages with their demands begin to speed up until Jennifer realises she really has to make a decision.
Kerry Wilkinson is among my top authors. Every book never lets me down. He is so skilled in his craft that he has the talent to bring the deepest, darkest fears of us all and it feels so real and terrifying. In ‘The Perfect Daughter’ he has done it again. I always wonder if his next book will be as good as his last and he always smashes it out of the park.
He has created a chilling and jaw-dropping story. The twists and turns of the plot take you to places you wouldn’t expect, but then again this is Kerry Wilkinson! The suspense is exacerbated by the red herrings that are thrown into the story. I was invested in Jennifer’s issues and thought these characters were a marvellously flawed set of people. I find the more flawed, the more interesting the person. This definitely added more to this book.

I always love a Kerry Wilkinson book but hate it when I have finished it too. Rather a double-edged sword for me.
Thanks to Bookouture and NetGalley for the copy of the book.
