Joyce Skye – Falling In Florence

‘Falling In Florence’ by Joyce Skye is the second book I have read by this author. That one was set in Corfu and I truly enjoyed the book. This is a story mainly set in Florence, Italy so I jumped on the tour to see if Joyce Skye could help me fall in love with another country again.

Sofia Marino has just got a new job, as a PA to Peter Williams of Sublime Retreats, she is so happy to have the job she really wanted. As a trip to Florence looms Peter finds he is unable to go so asks Sofia to fly out for him and find a place that is worth adding to the Sublime Retreats’ portfolio. The only fly in the ointment is that she has to work with Adam Flynn who she really isn’t keen on. Sofia knows that to prove she is indispensable she has to make this trip successful so decides nothing will stop her.

Florence works its charm on them both and the sparks begin to fly but will their families make sure it goes no further?

A story set in such a beautiful country had me swept away with the romance of it all. I thought Sofia was such a likeable character. Her interview with Peter for the job had its funny moments and her enthusiasm was very clear. Adam is rather an introvert as we see in his relationship with dad who is still obsessed with a cold case from before he retired. He slowly becomes almost a different person as he spends more time with Sofia. It is lovely to witness these two slowly get to know each other and then the chemistry between them that starts to bubble to the surface.

The preconceived opinions of Adams dad are rather funny, just because Sofia’s family is Italian he thinks they must be doing something wrong!

A book that transported me to Florence with characters I was invested in right away and a romance that I felt I was a part of. Joyce Skye has again weaved her magic with another book set in another country and I loved it!

Thanks to Rachel’s Random Resources and Joy Skye for the copy of the book.
