‘Falling For A French Dream’ by Jennifer Bohnet is a story that has the power to transport you to France for an escapist and emotional read within a few chapters. I have read Jennifer Bohnet’s books before and I do love her skill with the written word.

We meet the Jacques family in France. They are all attempting to come to terms with the loss of Marc. His wife and son, Nicole and Oliver have moved to Marc’s families Olive Farm in the Riviera.
Due to a family feud, Oliver has never known his father’s side of the family but Grandpapa Henri is intent that Oliver will take over the reins of the ancestral farm and his rightful inheritance.
Determined to keep her independence from a rather controlling Grandpapa, Nicola buys a run-down cottage on the edge of the family’s Olive Farm and sets to work renovating their new home and providing an income by cultivating the smallholding that came with the Cottage.

As the summer months roll by, Nicola and Oliver begin to settle happily into their new way of life with the help of Aunts Josephine and Odette, Henri’s twin sisters and local property developer Gilles Bongars.
But the arrival of some unexpected news and guests at the farm, force Nicole and Aunt Josephine to assess what and where their futures lie.
Falling For a French Dream is a story that is about new beginnings, hope, healing and taking a chance on happiness. Nicole is a woman I found easy to relate to. She is a loyal and strong woman who is determined nothing will stop her from rebuilding Olivers and her future. I felt like she could be a friend of mine as Jennifer Bohnet again, has expertly drawn these characters and so vividly set her scenes so I felt I was there at the olive farm with Nicole.

I find this every time I read a Jennifer Bohnet story. She brings the most realistic emotions into her stories to bring us a compelling, emotional and poignant book. I must thank Rachel Gilbey of Rachel’s Random Resources for introducing Jennifer Bohnet into my life.
Thanks to Boldwood Books and netgalley for my gifted copy of the book.
