Helen Christmas – Lethal Ties

‘Lethal Ties’ by Helen Christmas is a psychological thriller and a new author to me. I am so grateful for all the new authors I discovered while being a book blogger. Helen Christmas is another little gem as I discovered.

Helen Christmas

We are introduced to three people, Joe, Maisie and Sam. They all lived in a children’s home together and vowed to look after each other. They spent every minute together and then, one night Sam went missing.

Twenty years later we see Maisie in therapy for recurring nightmares while Joe is living on the streets. The day comes that Maisie finds him on the seafront, homeless so she helps him get his life back on track. Then Sam turns up from the past with a new life and a terrible story to tell them both. These three friends all know their own bits of the real story but how much is actually real? Are their memories as real as they think? What impact does their childhood have on the present day?

A fabulous psychological thriller that skillfully weaves around these three people and their lives, with a plot that is an addictive one. The tension builds throughout the book along with the pace creating a riveting read with a perfectly gripping conclusion. The characters are all so believable and as the sense of unease and the darkness in the story grew I was on the edge of my seat.

Thanks to Rachel’s Random Resources and Helen Christmas for the copy of the book.
