‘One Must Die’ by Mark Tilbury is his newest release to date. Mark has quite the twisted reputation and nothing has changed with this book. When the tagline is “How do you choose which one of your sons should die?” You expect the worst and hope for the best! I have never read a bad book from this author and never expect to, but upon starting this one I wondered if he could best his last book. Well, believe me, this is darker than the last one, although in his personal opinion this is not as dark…well, I have no words for that.

Sean Levitt is a widower receives an ominous message in the post: “I have both your sons, Mr Levitt. One of them must die. You choose.” This is a few days after both his boys go missing while on their way to army cadets. As time goes by Sean keeps receiving horrific demands.
The kidnapper sends DVDs and demands he posts videos online of these demands he has given. It is the story of Sean’s fight to save his sons, can he succeed where the police have failed? Or will the kidnapper do as he threatens and destroy Sean’s family completely? This is a dark, emotional tale that you really don’t want to read… but you can’t stop.
A subject that is at the heart of every parent’s nightmares. One that gets you in your most vulnerable state, the rawness of the emotions throughout this book affected me as the onlooker. I was as terrified as Sean was. He has lost his wife, the mother to his kids and here he was, fighting to save them and himself in the process. Sean does have his father-in-law still and they have such a great relationship still, I enjoyed knowing Sean had someone still and it was lovely to see. His boys are so different from each other but together they are so brave. In particular the eldest. I was so angry at the actions of the kidnapper! If I could have got my hands on them…
A story that Mark Tilbury has again skillfully woven to shock and surprise the reader. A tense and twisty story that has you almost gasping as the twists appear. He is a writer who knows how to place his twists when you least expect them and to make the most impact. It took me a day to read this, the pages of the Kindle were flipping so fast it is a miracle I didn’t cause a fire! I just needed to know! In short Mark Tilbury has done it again!

Dark, tense, twisted and brutal. A story that will stay with you long after you have finished it.
Thanks to the ‘Master of Twisted’ Mark Tilbury for asking me on the tour and sending me a copy of his fabulously chilling book.
