Paul McCracken – Where Crows Land

‘Where Crows Land’ by Paul McCracken is a tough and gritty crime thriller that is set in Belfast. I love finding new authors and I was looking forward to settling down with this book and I am happy to say I love Paul McCracken’s writing and just to make a note this is yet another Conrad Press book that I have most certainly loved.

Paul McCracken

We are introduced to Joseph Carter an ex-detective who is now a Private Investigator. He can keep his ear to the ground and still have an idea of what’s going on in the streets of Belfast. It starts to become clear that his past is hurtling to collide with his present and Joe has a reason to get back to investigating the murder of his family. A case that is still raw and painful for him.

One of my favourite type of books. Dark, twisty, gritty and full to the brim with suspense and mystery. Paul McCracken successfully lead me down many a blind alley thinking I knew the killer only to be proved wrong.

Joe is a character I enjoyed meeting him. He is a man who is definitely loyal, you can tell that just with his firm belief that he will catch the person who killed his family, he will not let it go and I was rooting for him throughout. Not every character was likeable but that is real life. We all have people we can’t stand for some reason or another.

A story that immersed me in the dark and gritty side of Belfast and I LOVED it! The fact that the ending has left it open for another book has me keeping my fingers crossed and while I wait I am going to get Paul’s other book to pass the time.

Thanks to Random Things Tours and The Conrad Press for my copy of the book.

I can also confirm that part 2 is already finished and I hope to have it out soon.
