‘Glass House’ by Morwenna Blackwood is the sequel to Morwenna’s first book. I haven’t read the first one but I didn’t find it too confusing as I read this book. My advice would be to read the first then this one. It will certainly give more clarity. A book published by DarkStroke Books which I must mention is one of my go-to publishers for books on the dark and/or scary side so I knew this would be an excellent read.

Psychiatrists, Drs Whittle and Grosvenor, have dedicated their lives to helping their patients, but their approach, and the complications it reveals, lead them into relationships that harm not only themselves.
As their lives entangle, both men find that doing no harm is not as cut-and-dried as they think…just who can you trust?
I don’t think I can say I have read a darker or more intense book than this and I have read some dark books! ‘Glass House’ is definitely not an easy read at all. This has not been written for comfort reading, rather the opposite I would think.

A story of the psychiatrists who work with people who suffer from mental health in one way or another. The judgements that they make are relied on by people who expect them to be trying to improve the sufferers’ lives, judgements that are based on their training, their wisdom, their code of conduct and the oaths they make. This book takes us to a place where you can ponder over what would happen if the actual physicians were as mentally ill as the patients they treat, day in day out?
Well, I can say I have experienced major trauma through mental illness and I am quite lucky as I don’t trigger when I read books, not in a bad way anyway. If you have any triggers connected with mental health maybe leave this book. Other than that, this is a very compelling story. The story is told by switching from one character to another so you can’t quite grasp or get a handle on it, just as someone with mental health could find their life being.

We begin to see how the line can blur between patients and the doctors, I found it quite unnerving but oh, so interesting too! I shall be investing in the first book and reading them in sequence to gain the full impact of both books together.
Thanks to Rachel’s Random Resources, DarkStroke Books and Morwenna Blackwood for the copy of this book.
