‘Save Her Child’ by C.J. Lyons is the third book in the Detective Luka Jericho and crisis intervention doctor Leah Wright.

Set in Cambria City Pennsylvania this has been an excellent series and ‘Save Her Child’ shows me it still is just that.
Leah discovers a woman in labour at the county fair. She is so scared all she will tell Leah is her first name, Beth. Leah asks Luka if he will help her with this. Luka says yes but needs her to interview a widow whose husband has recently died but she seems not to be 100% truthful in answers or reactions. Together they discover both cases are linked by the father of the newest member of Luka’s team at work, Naomi Harper who has her own case to work. She is leading the investigation in the killing of a local prostitute, Lily. Little do all three realise that the link goes further than they all think.
Another Jericho and Wright instalment that is again an immersive and exciting read. As always we see the stress of their investigations and also the strains on their family lives. A story that has characters that all play a strong part in the story. I am really getting to know Leah and Luka better with each book published and now Naomi is introduced. She is an excellent addition that I am looking to get to know better in the future.
A plot of multiple strands that C.J Lyons manages to pull together to give the reader the full picture of greed, betrayal and crime. As always she has incorporated the twists and turns she is so skilled at in this story and they kept me on my toes! I really couldn’t get enough of this book, I just kept turning the pages until I really had to go to bed.
Thank you to Bookouture and NetGalley for the copy of the book.
