Jane Gilley – The Making Of Robert Moony

‘The Making of Robert Moony’ by Jane Gilley is one of those books that makes you smile as you start reading it, well I did anyway.

Jane Gilley

Robert has no friends. His mother invited herself to stay with him for a few months and has never left. He hates his job and is beginning to wonder what life REALLY has in store for him. But a shocking act of mistaken identity is about to change Robert’s life forever, proving that friends can be found in the most unlikely of places…

A tale of a man who has never really matured as he should. His mother has the dominant power in his life and it shows. We see him go from his introverted self who lives with his mum and has no self-confidence or belief in himself to someone who is now attempting to tiptoe out into a world in which his mother has no say.
The things that happen to give him this chance are the craziest set of circumstances that could be possible!

I haven’t read any of Jane Gilley’s books so I just went with the flow. This story made me wanna cheer him on all the way! Robert Mooney ends ups in some mad situations but in the end, they help him realise he is capable of living without his mothers influence.

Jane Gilley has created an uplifting and funny story that really goes to show that you just need to take the chances and life is there.

Thanks to Heather @LifeBookish and Jane Gilley for my place on the tour and the copy of the book.
