David Blake – The Wherryman

‘The Wherryman’ by David Blake is the sixth book in the D.I John Tanner series. It follows on about two years after ‘Horsey Mere’ which I reviewed for this same blog tour last week.

David Blake

‘The Wherryman’ sees Tanner returning from his escape from the events in ‘Horsey Mere’. He has been at sea but returns back to work with a short term contract. More or less immediately he is thrown into an investigation into missing children which soon turns into a murder case too. Even though Tanner has been away for so long does he still have what it takes to solve the case he has been dropped into upon his return?

Wow! Well, ‘The Wherryman’ is a brilliant read! I have enjoyed David Blake’s other books and knew as soon as I read the synopsis I was really going to be flying through this one in no time. David Blake definitely knows how to keep someone gripped for sure! He immediately grabs you from the first page and there is no going back once you start!

‘The Wherryman’ is a compelling and very twisty read that just shows that even though we are well into a series, this book feels as original and the first one. For that alone, I think David Blake is a master at his craft.

I could have been with Tanner on that case, that is how great this author is at creating a sense of place and realistic characters too.

Thank you to Rachel’s Random Resources and David Blake for the copy of the book.
