‘Space Taxis’ by A&H Frosh is a book that you may need to settle into and open your mind as soon as you open the book. A story that spans multiple genres. A&H Frosh have managed to blend historical fiction with science fiction and even more, showcasing their creativity with the pages of this crazy ride.

1977 and New York cab driver Mike Redolfo is abducted, cab and all, by aliens from the planet Vost. He has been mistaken for a renegade scientist…and he discovers Vost is as bad as Earth in some ways. At the same time in 1944, there is a couple in the middle of the Holocaust. They are attempting to stay away from the Nazi’s and certain death. One of them comes out the other side as someone who can control and manipulate certain events, which makes it very interesting for the power-hungry.
Mike meanwhile is slowly earning his fare back home and keeping himself in the shadows. Until he manages to get involved with a dodgy gang of alien criminals, and unwittingly bringing the planet to the edge of catastrophe! The link between the timelines becomes clear and Mike must find the secrets of the past that could be the key to saving the planet.
The unique plot gives this book such a different flavour that I really fancied reading it (I also loved the cover). I always enjoy duel timelines and this one piqued my interest.

A character-driven story with characters that I was totally invested in from the beginning. The very fact that Mike was earning his fare back home had me laughing. A story that weaves the sombre history of the Holocaust together with Alien abduction and makes it something I want to actually read and enjoy thoroughly. A marvellous creation by A&H Frosh that I would like to see a second book by these authors in the future, bringing Mike back off course!
Thanks to Rachel’s Random Resources and Burton Mayers Books for my copy of the book.
