R.P. Gibson Colley – Eleven Days In June

‘Eleven Days In June’ by R.P. Gibson Colley is a book that will help you unwind on those days you just need a book and a brew, nothing else will do.

Set in Devon in a little village called Little Leaf in the 1980s, we meet Daniel, a twenty-year-old, he works in the small DIY shop. He had a passion for Lord Nelson and numbers but people…he will never understand them and girls well, they are nowhere on his radar. He misses his dad while his mum just mocks him. He wants his childhood friend back, Ollie, the only person who ever understood him.

The day arrives when Libby enters his shop and his world turns upside down. As a lot of mysterious questions pop up about the beautiful Libby he soon discovers she isn’t who she seems to be.

Eleven Days In June brought a few emotions to the fore for me. I initially experienced sadness for Daniel, as all he ever wants is to fit in and with his issues, people tend to shy away from anything different to what they know. This tale highlights the difficulties experienced just because you are different and also shows us how peoples opinions can change once they get to know that ‘different’ person. In this case, we witness the difference between the people in the village and how protective they become as the story develops. I thoroughly enjoyed this genuinely uplifting and beautiful book.

Thanks to Rachel’s Random Resources and R.P Gibson Colley for my copy of this lovely book for my review.
