‘Song Of The Psychopath’ by Mark Tilbury is the latest of his books. As always Mark has managed to create a story that tops the rest! I always think he could not get any better than he already is and then he releases a book that does exactly that. I must give a trigger warning (although, if you read Mark Tilbury you can’t have any triggers left tbh) of child abuse.

We meet Tommy, he has a fractured skull, fractured wrist and several injuries besides. He is recovering in hospital with no memory of how these injuries happened and doesn’t even remember his family.
He begins sessions with a private therapist and the past begins to be remembered, slowly but surely we are witness to Tommy’s horrific and emotional journey that led up to his hospital stay.
My heart went out to Tommy, he was frustrated so entered into therapy to try to get his memory back, only to have to travel that horrific road again. I am aware that if something is so terrible your brain blocks it out for self-preservation…Tommy clearly didn’t receive that particular message. This story is so dark that I had goosebumps at one point in the story.
‘The Song Of The Psychopath’ is an engrossing and addictive read. I couldn’t stop turning the pages to see what would happen next. Filled full of twists and macabre turns at times (it is Twisted Tilbury you know!) I am really wondering how Mark Tilbury can top this…but I bet he will!
Thanks go to Mark Tilbury for gifting me the copy of the book for my review today.
