‘Wildflower Graves’ by Rita Herron is the second book in a series that features Detective Ellie Reeves. This can be read as a standalone as Rita Herron does give the reader the backstory of the events from book one. The setting for the series is the Appalachian Mountains and Rita Herron has again brought these to life so vividly.

This time we see Ellie racing against time to discover one of the most terrifying serial killers she has come up against. Known as the weekday killer who always leaves a chilling calling card with his victims. Ellie and the team need to attempt to halt this killer before any more victims appear.
The case becomes very personal to Ellie when her friend Deputy Shronda Eastwood goes missing. The events in the first book are still greatly affecting her with the people of the town still being against her too. This all places so much pressure on her, as well as trying to find the killer.

Wildflower Graves is a fast-paced, quite graphic and dark thriller that brings a story that has you on the edge of your seat while you read it. A great addition to the series that I was looking forward to, and it didn’t let me down.
Thanks to Rita Herron, Bookouture and Netgalley for the copy of the book to give you my review today.
