Martin Gore – The Road To Cromer Pier

I am today giving you my thoughts on the Audible version of ‘The Road to Cromer Pier’ by Martin Gore. I do enjoy an audiobook from time to time so when I was invited to take part in an Audible tour, I was quite happy.

‘The Road to Cromer Pier’ was an enjoyable listen. The story is entertaining and the narration is excellent. Penny Scott-Andrews Welsh accent and clear narration certainly adds to my enjoyment. The descriptions of a seaside town were vivid enough for me to imagine I was there. I haven’t been to Cromer, but I have spent a lot of time at a quiet seaside town not far away from me. It just took me back to those times. The book perfectly encapsulates the atmosphere of seaside towns so well.

Martin Gore has created some likeable characters in this story and also a few that are not as nice! The story kept me listening for longer than I expected. This was because it had a bit of everything. I found it had sad moments and then, to balance it out there were funny moments also. I liked that there were also times that the issues raised were very normal ones. Anybody could be having the same problems. I thought the characters were very believable and I connected to the story through this. I thoroughly enjoyed this audiobook and enjoyed the twist in the story too.

A story about love, friendship and ultimately hope.

Thanks to Rachel’s Random Resources and Martin Gore for the audiobook to write my review today.
