M.K. Wiseman – Sherlock Holmes & The Ripper Of Whitechapel

‘Sherlock Holmes & The Ripper Of Whitechapel’ by M.K Wiseman is a Victorian murder mystery, featuring the man himself, Sherlock, and the infamous Jack The Ripper. These two people are the most famous people, for truly different reasons obviously, and are guaranteed to get people reading.

M.K. Wiseman

This particular book is written from Sherlock’s perspective and turns into more of a tale of friendship and how far one will go to protect it. We see how Sherlock is lured into the Ripper case by, not just Inspector Lestrade but Commissioner Warren also.

Watson has been married to Mary, moved out of 221B Baker St and running his own medical practice for almost a year. Sherlock has realised he misses him for a couple of reasons, the first being his company and the second his contributions towards his investigations. Sherlock feels Watson has been absent even more than normal for the previous few months.
The Ripper killings have begun and Watson has advised Sherlock during a rare visit that he needs to stay away from the case as it is such a disturbing one. Lestrade then asks for his help and Sherlock decides to aid them in their investigations.

He soon begins to discover really disturbing facts out and not just the facts of the killings but personally disturbing facts. These particular facts are mind-boggling and he is appalled at what he is deducing, it seems that all his deductions are pointing to Watson for the killings! From this point, it becomes a story of friendships and secrets between Sherlock and Watson their friendship is put under a microscope and we see it put under pressure that could make or break them.

A truly entertaining and brilliant Sherlock read. The author has done well to use the correct historical details when dealing with the Ripper. The weaving of the fiction in between is so skilful that it could all be real.

Thanks to Rachel’s Random Resources and M.K.Wiseman for the copy of the book today for my review.
