Jackie Walsh – Five Little Words

‘Five Little Words’ by Jackie Walsh is a thriller set in a small Irish village.

Jackie Walsh

Laura begins to question just how well she knows her husband when she receives a card through the post, telling her he is a murderer. Laura also has a secret though and she wants to keep it. After receiving the card she is determined to discover the truth and I was dying to know both! I was pretty much glued to this book hoping the secrets would come tumbling out. Jackie makes sure she doesn’t allow too much information to come out, so those pages were going at a rate!

I felt for Laura because she really loves her husband and apart from Amanda, her sister she is alone. His family and friends aren’t exactly on the top of her visiting list so she just has Amanda. There are points when Laura could have done with others to trust as we see her not having a clue and being alone in her confusion, these times I really felt like I wish I was there. That is a credit to the author I think because my heart went out to her.

The story has it’s twists and turns that lead me to think I knew it all, then as always, nope! Not them. A great fast-paced book about the secrets everyone keeps and how that can impact upon multiple lives and even rip them apart. A skillfully written plot with believable characters that will hook you immediately.

Thanks to Book On The Bright Side Publicity and Hera Books for my copy of the book for my review today.
