‘The Girl She Wanted’ by K.L Slater is a psychological thriller and when it’s by this particular author you know it will have everything you need in this kind of book. Tense and twisty to say the least!

This book centres on a hospital where two people have died in A and E in suspicious circumstances. An allegation has been made about Carrie Parsons, a nurse there. A Junior Doctor makes the allegation and sends the police in Carrie’s direction for investigation.
Carrie lives together with her sister, Alexa, her husband Perry and one-year-old daughter Florence since Carrie’s divorce. As Carrie gets suspended she finds support in her sister, but not everyone feels the same way.
A fantastic storyline and a book that rips up the ‘usual’ formula and reimagines said formula. A read that led me down so many wrong roads I was on the edge of my seat dying to know how it would end.

The characters all had it in them to be the culprit and that is due to the excellent writing of K.L Slater. She has the skill to turn everything and everyone on their heads and, STILL, have us readers guessing. A brilliant book yet again and can’t wait for the next one.
Thanks to Bookouture and NetGalley for the copy of this book for my review.
