‘The Snow Fox Diaries’ by Jan Mazzoni is a book that is different from any other book I usually read and I haven’t been introduced to Jan Mazzoni’s work before this. I am pretty glad I was invited and chose to accept my invitation to take part in the blog tour as I would have missed a unique and intense book.

Kate is the main character, she loses her job and her world becomes less certain than before. I found her a woman who I could understand and felt an emotional connection don’t we all have these wobbles? She decides to renovate an old farmhouse and sell it for her husbands cousin in the Exmoor countryside. She catches sight of a fox with two cubs and is captivated by them. Kate feels a strange connection with the fox and her babies and goes all out to protect them from the world who just see them as vermin that need to be got rid of.
The book takes a life of its own from the moment Kate discovers the foxes but it isn’t just a simple story of man versus nature there are so many layers to this book, it is beautifully written and so well researched for the area the book is set. I could picture the wilderness that Kate was living in. We also discover Kate’s insecurities along with her complexities. These also include her marriage which seems to be falling apart before her eyes and gets worse as we progress through the book.

I enjoyed this emotionally intense read and was engrossed in Kate’s journey to the end.
Thank you to Random Things Tours and Jan Mazzoni for the copy of the book for my review today.

Thanks for the blog tour support Sharon xx
