‘You Make It Feel Like Christmas’ by Louise Marley is a feel-good romantic comedy.

Beth’s family the Hollys are the T.V. icons of Christmas. Her mum Agatha has been presenting ‘A Holly Jolly Christmas’ a programme that shows people how to have a perfect Christmas for years. Beth, on the other hand just wishes for a quiet Christmas and to spend it just with her family, no tv madness. She even misses her ex from years ago, who now runs a weird hotel, that was his mothers and she was a horror film star. Beth decides this year she has had enough and just disappears from the house.

Her sister, Lucy, produces the programme for the family and when they can’t find Beth, sees an opportunity knocking to refresh the usual Holly Jolly Christmas. The family pile into the production van and go in search of the sister who wants the traditional Christmas. They get waylaid on the way due to an unexpected stop as well.
A story that weaves it’s Christmas magic with the family, and with the reader too. It’s not all straight forward but after a few twists and turns on the way, all the family start to find exactly what a perfect Christmas actually is! Then we have the romance that is threaded into the story too, a lovely Christmas book with characters that are as colourful as they first seem, a family discovering it isn’t all about the money but more about each other. I felt very Christmassy when I finished this book, almost needed my tree up and candles lit. Really enjoyed this, my first festive read of the year.

Thank you to Rachel’s Random Resources and Louise Marley for the copy of the book, so I could write my review.
