I Don’t Do Mondays by Colette Kebell is a quirky, light and fun read. The first time I have actually picked up a book by Colette and it won’t be the last!

Mia is a woman who doesn’t make the best decisions in life, she has a conceited, obnoxious and entitled boyfriend, Carlton. His life, being the CEO of a company means he feels he can treat everyone like they are his slaves and then spends his weekends with other women?! Mia spends more time in a bar with her friends than she ever does seeing Carlton, but he decides to weakly ask her to marry him and she stupidly says yes! Like I say, not the best decisions really! Then to consolidate her craziness she goes to visit her mum and dad in Maine, the intention being to stop them coming to the wedding! If I wasn’t gobsmacked with her actions I was laughing at them! She isn’t exactly a likeable person with her mad life, but she provided me with good entertainment.

I enjoyed her friends, Ginger, who is her assistant is a fabulous woman, she had her ways of creating extra money for herself and every idea was creative and different, in a funny way. Then we have Xander, a brilliant character, painter, writer and parcel man too. These two are there all the way for Mia, and we see the growth in them both as the story develops.
I enjoyed how Mia grows throughout the book especially when she finally gets to be with her family. Its as if, now she is home, she settles into her real self. Her family, it seems, ground her and their family time together was written really well. What begins as a chaotic woman making rash decisions becomes more of a fresh start and second chances.

As I said at first, a quirky story that I thoroughly enjoyed. All the elements needed to create a story that holds you until you are finished. True escapism from my normal life these days.
Thanks to Rachel’s Random Resources and Colette Kebell for the book to write this review today
