N.J. Coleridge – Freedom Of The Creed

‘Freedom Of The Creed’ by N.J Coleridge is the very first Western book I have read. I grew up with the Western films of yesteryear, but have never been tempted by the genre in books. I thought it was about time I dipped my toe in the waters so here I am.

We are introduced to Saoirse Creed, who is a bounty hunter and she is on the tail of the Woe-Be-Gone Gang, her aim to catch them and pay her debts. A journey that takes her to Kites Run a small town whose silver mine is closed and the locals have no hope, only despair. The gang are rumoured to be going that way. She needs this one capture to straighten herself up, but will it happen?

From the first page, we are swept into the action. Saoirse proves herself straightaway to be a woman worthy of the title Bounty Hunter, beating a gang by pulling the jump on them before they get to jump her. A woman who knows what she wants and is determined to get it. This feisty, independent woman will let nothing get in her way. Saoirse is bringing her bounty home, one way or another! I really liked her resilience.

The Woe-Be-gone Gang are a group of men that are the worst of the worst. Rob is a man who takes pleasure in torturing people, a psychopath of the highest order, he has a past that can make your skin crawl with terror. The danger is very real for Saoirse with this man around.

Freedom Of The Creed is a fast-paced book that I read in a day and a half. A Western that had me hooked from the start. I am happy there will be another book for sure! A great series for anyone who enjoys a Western or would like to try a Western. I say give it a go! Plenty of action to hold anyone.

Many thanks to Rachel’s Random Resources and the author for the book to write my review today.
