M.R. MacKenzie – The Library Murders

‘The Library Murders’ by M.R. MacKenzie is a murder mystery, but not your average murder mystery. It is more akin to the high octane thrillers, due to the masked gunmen, and the power games played out.

Alyssa Clark has a new job, in a library, which she automatically expects to be bored senseless. Then, Alyssa and all her colleagues in the library receive the biggest shock they could have when masked gunmen storm the building and murder everyone barring Alyssa and one colleague Davy, who both survived, just! The police go on to catch the man they think is behind the attack, but Davy is convinced otherwise. Alyssa, suffering from PTSD from the attack and her ex at the same time, just wants it to go away until she finds some proof that maybe Davy is correct in his thinking.

Alyssa and Davy start working together and find much more than Alyssa first thought. The only trouble is, they don’t realise how dangerous the truth can be!

Well, this certainly changed my view on “just popping to the library”, for sure! A fast-paced thriller with plot twists rolling almost concurrently. This is a story that ramps up the tension and doesn’t let go at all! I was gripped with the story. As far removed from a cosy murder mystery as it could be. Thanks to the publisher for my copy of the book for today’s Blog Tour.
