Graham Smith – Snatched From Home

‘Snatched From Home’ by Graham Smith is a crime thriller that had me hooked from the first page. I was thrown right into the action, no messing about.

Graham Smith

Victoria and Nicholas have their children kidnapped due to Nicholas building up a huge gambling debt and need to pay up before the children are physically mutilated or the police find out.

Enter DI Harry Evans, a man fighting against the tide of time. Out on a limb not willing to really give up work, not happy he is working with his replacement, John Campbell! He really, really wants to go out on a big case if he has to go. I love Harry, a copper that does things his own way, likened to Gene Hunt by Campbell. I loved his unorthodox ways and warmed to him because he really cares about what he is doing and getting results.

The team are a mixed bag of personalities, Lauren, who uses her “assets” in order to get the answers, the Nerd that is Chisholm with his IT speciality, Campbells by the book, job worthiness as compared to Harry, who on numerous times shows him that he may seem lax but it’s done in Harry’s way.

Graham’s writing makes this a really well-paced story following the police with the usual jobs at the fore and the kidnapping story still going on.
A suspense-filled, tense story with loads of twists and turns to keep us on our feet. An excellent book that has me addicted to Harry Evans now. An edge of your seat subject with kidnapped children and a desperate mother that makes the tension unbearable at times. I need to find out if there are any more Harry Evans books now! Thank you to Random Things Tours and Graham Smith for the ARC.
