‘The Little Girl Who Gave Zero Fucks’ by Amy Charlotte Kean is presented like a children’s picture book, but is aimed more at teens and adults alike.

It is the story of Elodie-Rose, with her basket of fucks (every girl has this same basket btw). Elodie-Rose has to give her fucks out daily – to anyone demanding one. These people are the bullies, the demanding people, the people who hurt you, disrespect you…the list is rather long, and as you can see and all negative. This is the day she decides to keep them all to herself and bravely keeps her head held high and just be herself. It isn’t an easy thing to do with your inside voice screaming to “do the right thing” for everyone else, but carrying on regardless! Even to the point of being judged for not conforming.

Elodie-Rose has the message for all the little girls to try in no matter what. A brilliantly written story with a fabulous message for all the girls (and even women) out there! I was beaming with this book and plan to let my eleven-year-old daughter have a read, she needs this herself at this moment in time.

The illustrations are the same kind you’d find in children’s books, bright colourful and interesting. We see most famous women who have a message for us all and also the inclusion of all different girls from all different walks of life and races too. This book should be read by every female who needs to learn to “not give a fuck!” As Elodie-Rose would say!
