Celeste Three is Missing by Chris Calder is a Sci-Fi Thriller. I am very familiar with Chris’s writing, but was very unsure about this book. I decided to join the Tour and “give it a go”, you could say. I am so glad I did! I began the book with a little trepidation, but after the first page I was caught up in the story.

I think I expected loads of technical jargon, that would go straight over my head and I’d get lost in it all. Instead, what I got was Chris’s remarkable skill at story telling.
Two men. The first one, Viktor Karenkov, is a billionaire oil magnate who has always got what he wanted, even if he had to resort to murder. The other man, Gregory Topozian, had been swindled by Viktor many years earlier and had his best friend murdered by him. The Celeste Three is the worlds first earth-orbit passenger plane and Viktor has booked a seat on one flight. Gregory sees an opportunity to give Viktor his just desserts. He has to come up with a daring plan to get the Celeste Three while his nemesis is onboard.
The story starts in the 1980s in the Soviet Empire and the timeline moves to the present day in the West smoothly weaving the Gregory/Viktor story through the years, and concentrating on Gregory’s masterplan. I really got involved with the characters and was cheering Gregory on to fulfil his plan.

A brilliant sci-fi book for us readers that don’t want too much techno-babble and need loads of character-driven story and thrills with twists and turns, and also a little bit of humour running through. Thank you to Rachels Randon Resources and Chris Calder for allowing me to join in this marvellous blog tour.
