Faith Martin (as Maxine Barry) – The Lying Game

The Lying game by Maxine Barry (Faith Martin as we know her) is a romantic suspense novel that slots nicely into the genre.

The story starts with Oriana Foster, a woman who is being released from prison after serving 13 years for murder. We meet Oriana on the day she is released and as it turns out, she is a steadfast and likeable character who is adamant she is innocent of the charges. Her next step after leaving prison will be to try to find the right murderer.

She has a plan, and it includes hiring a bodyguard, Connor, and having him act as a boyfriend. From here we are caught in a delicate web of love, hate, revenge even and the relationships that come from Oriana’s actions.
The story develops and we see that the murder she was in prison for was the murder of her best friend, Mercedes’ brother Rollo. Mercedes’ twin Lowell is not happy at all to find Oriana back! Connor, who is supposed to be Oriana’s boyfriend, finds himself drawn to Mercedes. Oriana and Lowell are the pair that wished they were, but never was!

Maxine has definitely got me in suspense, the will they, won’t they and the intrigue of Oriana’s quest to find the murderer marry well together. Thank you to Joffe Books for allowing me to be a part of this Blog Tour.
