We all thought Hillary had gone, then luckily Faith Martin decided enough was enough and wrote this great book, Hillary’s Back!
It is now 18 months since Hillary had suffered her own tragedy and she is throwing herself into work thinking it will help her.
We are introduced to former soldier Gareth Proctor who joins her team and settles in quicker than he thought he would. He begins on a cold case of a 21 year old man. This man was a drugdealer, a bully and very unpopular. There a few suspects that rise to the surface and his murder is thought to be drug related. Hillary feels different and a search brings up some fresh evidence for the case.
Hillary is a great character and Faith has fully developed her to a level that it feels like home when I delve into the book. I get really stuck into the investigation alongside the team. The twist at the end that everyone expects, but no one knows when it will come, is an inevitable part of the book. Great stuff! Welcome back Hillary!
